Ubuntu + Aptana IDE = i'm fuckd

Bueno
3 días después de intentarlo de varias maneras, no he logrado hacer andar el fckn' Aptana IDE en mi flamante Ubuntu.

Lo que he hecho:
-Descargué el instalador de www.aptana.com
-Hago la instalación, según estas instrucciones (redirigido de los foros de aptana).
Al tratar de correrlo obtengo:
An error has occurred. See the log file
/home/ramm/aptana/workspace/.metadata/.log.

Reviso el .log y tengo algo muy parecido a esto, lo que me lleva a esto otro
:?
He hecho esto:
#! /bin/bash
export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla
cd ~/Aptana
./aptana

De mil formas, con mozilla, con firefox, con rutas absolutas, con comillas, sin ellas, con WTF se me ocurriera y sigo con:
An error has occurred. See the log file
/home/ramm/aptana/workspace/.metadata/.log.


Alguien le ha pasado algo así?

Pues yo lo instale sin problemas :P

solo segui las instrucciones que te da el instalador que te lleva a la pagina para terminar la instalación xD

Según eso (ya pasé por ahí también) lo único que tendría que hacer es

Código :

sudo apt-get install mozilla

export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla

Pero quedo en la misma

Yo instalé el plugin para eclipse. No instalo nada en ubuntu a menos que venga en un cómodo .deb

habéis probado la manera sencilla?

1.-Bajarse Eclipse
2.- Instalar el plugin de Aptana con el "plugin-manager" de Eclipse

Instructions

To plug Aptana into an existing Eclipse configuration:

1. From the Help menu in Eclipse, select Software Updates > Find and Install... to open an Install/Update pop-up window.
2. On the Install/Update pop-up window, choose the Search for new features to install option, and click the Next button.
3. Set up a new remote site to scan for updates.
1. Click the New Remote Site... button to open a New Update Site pop-up window.
2. On the New Update Site pop-up window, type "Aptana" in the site Name text box.
3. In the URL text box, type the URL for the Aptana update site: http://update.aptana.com/update/ and click OK.
4. Click the Finish button to open an Updates window.
4. On the Updates window, check the Aptana box, and click the Next button.
5. Choose the option to accept the terms of the license agreement, and click the Next button.
6. Click the Finish button.
7. Click the Install All button.

Eclipse installs the Aptana plug-in. To finish the installation process, follow the prompts to shut down and re-start Eclipse.

To access all of Aptana's features as they are described in the Aptana documentation, you will need to change your Eclipse Perspective to the Aptana perspective. See Changing your Eclipse Perspective for instructions on how to change your Eclipse Perspective.

Lo habia tratado de hacer así, por alguna razón no pude.

Ahora lo hice de nuevo y ya tengo corriendo eclipse con el plugin Aptana, solo que hay varios detalles que no están bien.

Por ejemplo, en la vista "File" dice "Unable to create view: an unexpected exception has thrown" con un botón que dice Details, que al clicarlo sale una lista muy larga de cosas:

Acabo de hacer un nuevo proyecto, y al guardar me dio un mensaje que decía que no puede escribir el .metadata del proyecto, igual lo creó pero no se que es eso.

Se ve bastante bien en general, veremos como va

La página de Aptana reporta que el soporte es para Eclipse 3.1.x y aunque en la versión 3.2 corre, tiene algunos problemas como esos que comentas

Yo nunca pude hacerlo andar bien con el eclipse de los repositorios. incluso phpide se va al carajo.
Me bajé el tarball de la página de eclipse y tengo aptana + phpide + eclipse 3.2 andando de maravillas.

Lo qué oí, y corregí antes de darle una oportunidad para comparar, es que la versión de la máquina virtual de java que viene con ubuntu apesta. No tengo el link a mano pero hay un par de hilos acerca de eso en ubuntuforums.org.

Yo que vos desistalo todo lo que tiene que ver con eclipse y aptana con la opcion --purge y empiezo devuelta
