Hipoteca.co - please help me with advice

Hi!

I am an international angel investor and want to build a financial internet service offering mortgages and directed to spanish speaking customers around the world.

I have an exceptional opportunity to buy the domain Hipoteca.co for a very moderate price in the next days. I think the new global domain extension .co suits perfectly for a global operating company but I want you to help me with advise about the keyword "hipoteca". It should be common and instincive in everys spanish speaking country, if possible.

1. Is Hipoteca the only word used for Mortgage in spanish language?

2. If not, what are the other words used?

3. Are there any differences between the distinct spanish speaking countries with respect to the usage of the word hipoteca?

It's kind of curious that you found us. How did you get here?

I don't really like the .co, it always makes me think it's gonna have a lot of mistypes with the .com. But if you want it, yes, that is the word we use. We don't use any other word. And as far as I know, everybody says "hipoteca" in every spanish speaking country.

Well, unfortunately Hipoteca.com was bought already in 1990ies for millions of dollars by CitiBank and I doubt they want to sell it.
Hipoteca.co is WAY cheaper and I believe it is (or will become) almost as good. If this is the right keyword it is definitely best option for a global enterprise as the one I am gonna invest in, especially in the long term.
